Guest Voting
Some organizations allow guests to participate in feedback without a full account.
What is Guest Voting?
Guest voting lets unauthenticated users vote on features. This is useful for:
- Gathering feedback from a wider audience
- Allowing trial users to participate
- Public roadmap engagement
How It Works
When guest voting is enabled:
- Visit the feedback portal (no login required)
- Browse available features
- Vote using your guest credit allocation
Guest vs. Authenticated Users
| Feature | Guest | Authenticated |
|---|---|---|
| Browse features | Yes | Yes |
| Cast votes | Yes (limited) | Yes |
| Credit pool | Smaller | Full |
| Vote history | Session only | Persistent |
| Notifications | No | Yes |
Guest Credit Limits
Guest users typically receive fewer credits than authenticated users. This:
- Prevents gaming the system
- Encourages account creation for serious participants
- Still allows meaningful feedback collection
Upgrading from Guest
If you've been voting as a guest, creating an account may:
- Increase your credit pool
- Enable vote history and tracking
- Allow email notifications for shipped features
note
Guest voting availability depends on your organization's configuration. Not all feedback portals enable guest access.
