How Voting Works

The voting system is designed to surface genuine priorities, not just popularity.

Credit-Based Voting

Unlike simple thumbs-up voting, our credit system lets you express the intensity of your preference:

  • 10 credits on one feature = "I really need this"
  • 2 credits each on five features = "These would all be nice"

This produces a more accurate signal of what users truly prioritize.

Casting Votes

To vote on a feature:

  1. Open the feature details
  2. Adjust the credit slider (1-100 credits per feature)
  3. Confirm your allocation

Your vote is immediately reflected in the feature's total.

Changing Your Mind

Votes aren't permanent. You can:

  • Increase your allocation if remaining credits allow
  • Decrease your allocation to free up credits
  • Remove your vote entirely

Changed votes update totals in real-time.

Vote Visibility

  • Your votes are visible only to you
  • Aggregate totals are visible to everyone
  • Individual vote amounts are not disclosed

How Votes Influence Decisions

Product teams use vote data as one input into prioritization. High-vote features get more attention, but votes don't guarantee immediate implementation. Factors like:

  • Technical feasibility
  • Strategic alignment
  • Resource availability

...all influence the final roadmap.
